Dental and maxillofacial presentations to ED: Assessment, diagnosis and acute management

Overview

Facilitators: Annie Pellatt and Max Fax, surgeon

This dental and maxillofacial workshop combines factual learning with practical skills to explore common dental and maxillofacial emergencies, such as orthodontic infections, orbital floor fractures, common traumatic presentations, facial and orbital lacerations and more. The workshop will be delivered by a combination of dentists and maxillofacial surgeons.

ACEM Procedural Skills:

  • S15 – Dental – Enlocation avulsed / extruded / intruded / laterally
    injured tooth
  • S16 Dental – Joint reduction – Temporo-mandibular joint
  • S74 Regional Anaesthesia – Regional nerve blocks

CPD: Educational Activities (EA) – 3.5 hours
