ED-BOSS (Emergency Doctors Building on Supervisory Skills) is a popular supervisor course run at Gold Coast Health Emergency aimed at senior clinicians. It challenges clinicians to consider facilitating learning as something that is beyond intuition, rather a set of skills, informed by research that can be learned and practiced in a busy emergency department.
This workshop will touch on some key activities from the ED-BOSS course to utilise in your own practice such as.
- Setting expectations and orientating junior learners to the floor
- Teaching on the floor
- Principles of designing learning sessions
- Effective feedback practices
This workshop is designed to enhance your supervision approach and provide some practical strategies you can apply in your day-to-day work. Come along to learn, share ideas, and build confidence in supporting junior learners.
