Prof. Mitra is a Consultant emergency physician at Alfred Health and head of the emergency research unit at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine of Monash University. He is a member of the medical advisory committee to Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.
Prof Mitra was a member of the clinical and consumer reference group for the update of the NBA’s Patient Blood Management Guideline for Adult patients with Critical Bleeding. He is an investigator on recently completed and ongoing large randomised controlled trials involving patients with critical bleeding including the PATCH-Trauma and FEISTY-II.
