Professor Mitra is a consultant Emergency Physician and director of Emergency Medicine research at Alfred Health, Melbourne. He is chair of Clinical and consumer Reference Group for the critical bleeding module of The National Blood Authority, Australia and member of the Clinical, Ethics & Research Committee for the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. He is a lead investigator on multiple projects examining care of patients with traumatic brain injury across the spectrum from mild alterations in GCS to severe TBI.
