Colin Mak Gold Coast Health

Dr Colin Mak is an Emergency registrar working at Gold Coast Health as well as Lifeflight Retrieval Medicine Brisbane. Originally working in major trauma centres in London, his academic interests include quality improvement, critical care, ethical practice and global emergency care.

He has recently launched a new podcast series ‘Coastal Curiosity’ talking to Gold Coast clinician researchers aimed at improving accessibility to research. He spent two years on the QEDSAP Clinical Improvement and Innovation Working Group and is currently part of the Gold Coast Toxicology Working Group.

Currently enjoying his pre-hospital and retrieval term with Lifeflight, he looks forward to further developing his critical care research and quality improvement interests.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time on his boat with his 3 year old fluffy Samoyed.
