Professor Braitberg is Professor of Critical Care, Deputy Head of the of the Department of Critical Care, University of Melbourne, and Director of Emergency Medicine Research at Austin Health. He is an emergency physician, toxicologist, and medical administrator with over 38 years of experience in developing and implementing programs in emergency departments, health services, and healthcare systems. In 2018, he became a member of the Order of Australia (AM) and received the ACEM Distinguished Service Award; in 2019 was made an Officer of the Order of St John.
He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications (cited more than 2,000 times), written 18 book chapters and conducted multiple health service reviews.
