Born in Johannesburg South Africa.
Spent a year in Brazil after Matric (that’s Year 12) on Rotary Youth Exchange.
Studied Medicine at University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg training in infamous hospitals such as Baragwanath and Johannesburg General. Graduated December 2003.
Internship in Paarl, 2004, (Cape Winelands) and JHO year, 2005 also called Community Service year in a town called Piet Retief. ~ 4 hours from a Metropolitan hospital. It’s always interesting when you are only one of 3 in town who can legally give an anaesthetic and or perform a C-Section.
Came to Australia mid 2006. Started at Redcliffe hospital and then joined the GC 2007.
Special interests in Trauma, Medical Leadership and Prehospital and Retrieval with focus on medical response to endurance event athletes
Outside from work I’m a home body, but you’ll have me keen for a Rugby Union match or anything that involves good red wine and travel.
