Dr Hemal Patel is an emergency physician and medical educator based in Lake Macquarie, NSW. He serves as Program Convenor for the Joint Medical Program at the University of Newcastle and University of New England, and is Associate Medical Director at NSW Ambulance. Hemal has a strong interest in interprofessional education, clinical simulation, and system-level approaches to complex care. His recent work has included the management of behavioural disturbance in the pre-hospital setting, with a particular emphasis on safety, coordination, and trauma-informed practice. Hemal is committed to improving team-based responses in high-risk environments.
