Kim Hansen is an experienced FACEM with a passion for quality healthcare. She works as the Director of the Virtual Emergency Care Service in Metro North and is the Director of the Critical Care, Women’s and Children’s Service Line at the Redcliffe Hospital, in southeast Queensland. She has published on a range of topics including access block, incident monitoring, gender equity, cognitive bias, quality and safety and most recently, virtual care.
Kim was ACEM’s Queensland Faculty Chair from 2017 to 2024, Chair of AMAQ’s Ramping Roundtable, and is currently a Board Director of the Emergency Medicine Foundation after previously being Chair. She was the inaugural Chair of both ACEM’s Advancing Women in Emergency and IFEM’s Quality and Safety Special Interest Group. Dr Hansen’s drive is to provide excellent care to all patients while providing a supportive environment for clinicians. Her passions outside of work include basketball and handball, which she enjoys doing with her family.
