Dr Tatum Bond is a proud Ngajanji woman who lives, works and plays on Girrumay Wallaburra Yindinji land, otherwise known as Cairns. She is a full time Emergency Specialist at the Cairns Base Hospital, as well as being one of the DEMT’s. She also works as a casual Retrieval MO with the Cairns RFDS, retrieving patients from as far north as Thursday Island and out to Croydon in the West, bringing them to Cairns or Townsville for ongoing medical care. Tatum has been a long serving member of ACEMs Reconciliation Action Plan Steering Group and is keen to mentor First Nations doctors in her roles in the hospital, with hopes to encourage more Indigenous FACEMs through training. She is a proud dog mum of Pippa, Paddy and Turbo and spends her spare time hiking to waterfalls, finding pristine camping spots on the tablelands to camp at and exploring the reef and cays around Cairns.
