This workshop explores how FACEMs can more effectively support Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs) as they navigate their unique journey toward Fellowship. While SIMGs and trainees may share a destination, the paths they travel, and the support they need, often differ.
Through case discussions and practical strategies, participants will:
- Reflect on how to deliver effective, constructive feedback to SIMGs
- Examine the differences in supervising SIMGs versus trainees, and what adjustments may be needed
- Build skills in culturally responsive supervision that enhances learning, confidence, and professional growth
Ideal for supervisors and educators who are committed to equitable, supportive training environments, this session will challenge assumptions and foster more effective mentoring of SIMG colleagues.
Educational Activities: 3.5 hours
